Shoulder Abduction Orthosis
(Harvey Airplane Splint)

Description: Frame design with thoracic and arm sections attached to adjustable shoulder joint; Also has adjustable elbow joint

Function: Limit shoulder flexion/extension; Horizontal flexion/extension; Abduction; Usually set to allow free elbow range of motion

Indication: Primarily for post-operative use (i.e. rotator cuff reconstruction)

Include on Rx: Diagnosis, specific ROM limits (can be set to lock shoulder or elbow ROM).  

Hinged Elbow Orthosis

Description: Padded thermoplastic with adjustable velcro straps and hook and loop fasteners

Function: Provide support to elbow joint

Indication: Post elbow surgery; Tendon and muscle repair; Strains and sprains

Include on Rx: Diagnosis, specific ROM settings for elbow flexion/extension 

Wrist Driven/Tenonesis WHFO

Description: Padded forearm and palm sections with wrist and finger joints; Custom fabricated to patient's upper extremity

Function: Aid in positioning of index and middle fingers in opposition to thumb for prehension and grasp; Activated by wrist extension

Indication: C6 spinal cord injury with active wrist extensors

Include on Rx: Diagnosis and spinal levels involved

Humeral Fracture Orthosis

Description: Padded thermoplastic humeral cuff with adjustable Velcro straps; Includes wrist sling

Function: Provide compression and maintain alignment of fractured segments

Indication: Humeral shaft fracture (proximal, mid, distal)

Include on Rx: Diagnosis; specify if custom orthosis is required to limit elbow ROM (i.e. unstable distal humeral fracture); Fracture site (proximal, mid or distal)

Radial/Ulnar Fracture Orthosis

Description: Padded thermoplastic forearm cuff with adjustable Velcro straps

Function: Provide compression and maintain alignment of stabilized fractured

Indication: Midshaft fracture to radius and/or ulna

Include on Rx: Diagnosis; specify if custom orthosis is required to limit elbow ROM (i.e. unstable distal humeral fracture); Fracture site (proximal, mid or distal)

Gauntlet Wrist Hand Thumb Orthosis

Description: Wrap-around design (padded thermoplastic) with thumb spica

Function: Decrease wrist motionl Hold thumb in functional position; Decrease first MP motion

Indication: Sprains/fractures to wrist; 1st metacarpal or thumb

Include on Rx: Diagnosis; specify if custom fabricated or specific positioning required

Gauntlet Wrist Hand Orthosis

Description: Wrap-around design (padded thermoplastic)

Function: Decrease wrist flexion and radial/ulnar deviation; Hold in functional position

Indication: Wrist sprains/fractures

Include on Rx: Diagnosis; specify if custom fabricated or specific positioning required

Wrist Hand Thumb Orthosis

Description: Wrist hand orthosis with thumb spica

Function: Decrease wrist motion: Hold thumb abduction: Hold in functional position

Indication: Sprains/fractures to wrist, 1st metacarpal or thumb; Tendonitis; Severe deQuervain’s tenosynovitis

Cock-Up Wrist Hand Orthosis

Description: Wrap-around design with support stays

Function: Decrease wrist flexion, hold in functional position

Indication: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome; De Quervain’s tenosynovitis; Wrist sprains/fractures

Include on Rx: Diagnosis

Gamekeeper Thumb Orthosis (Thumbkeeper)

Description: Palmar section with thumb spica

Function: Hold thumb in functional position; Allow free wrist motion

Indication: Sprains/fractures; 1st metacarpal or 1st ray trauma; Tendonitis; deQuervain’s tenosynovitis

Include on Rx: Diagnosis; specify if custom fabricated or specific positioning required

Band-It

Description: Padded thermoplastic with adjustable Velcro straps

Function: Provide pressure over wrist flexor/extensor muscles to decrease pull over tendon insertions

Indication: Tennis elbow / epicondylitis
