Partial Foot Prosthesis w/ Toe Filler

Description: Device molded over model of patient’s remaining foot structure; placed inside shoe

Function: Distribute pressures over plantar surface of remaining foot structure; toe filler provides stabilization of foot within shoe and prevents abnormal wear of shoe

Indication: Partial foot amputation – some / all metatarsal heads intact

(Transtibial)

Description: Initial prosthetic socket attached to foot with alignable pylon

Function: Initial ambulation designed to accommodate volume fluction; adjustable for progressive gait improvements over time; no cosmetic cover

Indication: Early fitting for transtibial amputee

Rigid Removable Dressing (RRD)

Description: Custom molded plastic socket often used with a knee immobilizer

Function: Protects and shapes residual limb following amputation; optional knee immobilizer prevents knee flexion contracture; removable to allow inspection and dressing changes; washable for improved hygiene; adjustable; lighter weight than plaster.

Indication: Post-operative transfemoral, transtibial or syme

Include on Rx: “RRD (with /without knee immobilizer) /  Functional level
